Finance Manager (with strong Accounting skills)
The profile:
hard facts
-5 to 10 years of professional experience at a managerial level in financial accounting in an international operating company (in a production company would be an advantage)
-have a chartered accountant qualification and/or
-be a degree holder in Accounting/ Finance / or Economics
-have good knowledge of Chinese and international accounting standards
-knowledge of standard costing of a production company
-understanding of statutory requirements, such as rules for income tax, service tax, professionl tax, etc.
-fluency in English (oral and written)
-have fluent Chinese skills (Mandarin and Cantonese)
-have good practical knowledge of accounting software systems or enterprise resource planning software (ERP)
soft facts
-proven administrative, leadership and management abilities in managing finance and accounting functions
-excellent inter-professional and communication skills and commercial sense
-be motivated and have an independent personality with good organizational abilities
-good knowledge of Microsoft products, eg. MS Word or MS Excel
-multi-cultural environment skills
-ability to lead and to contribute to the team
The responsibilities:
-put in place and monitor all processes and procedures for accounting respecting the companies and group procedures
-lead and coordinate all accounting activities in the department
-producing accurate financial reports to specific deadlines
-provide data for periodic Group reporting and consolidation
-conduct inter-company reconciliations
-verify the accuracy of the balance sheet by preparing detailed support of contract valuations, provisions, debt, accounts receivable and payables, or any other entries made to various accounts
-ensure accurate preparation of required reports/management information, including tax reporting and budget
-liaising with the auditors for preparation of annual reports
-making regular reports to the top management on income, expenditure and any variations from the budget
-advising the top management on financial matters
-keeping abreast of changes in financial regulations and legislation
-monitoring and interpreting cash flows and predicting future trends
-developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., tax auditors, statutory auditors, internal auditors, bankers, statutory organizations etc.
-arranging sources of finance for debt facilities when required
-represent the department each time that accounting operations are involved
-supervising staff of about 40 people
